Poughquag, NY - Karen Temple, Owner. Breeder
"I grew up in the Mid Hudson Valley with a great fondness for all variety of animals. After watching the Disney Movie "Ole Yeller," I fell in love with the yellow Labrador and hoped, one day, I would have my own.
One day, I saw an ad in The Penny Saver that intrigued me. "Free to a good home - AKC Registered female yellow Labrador". The yellow Lab named Nellie was owned by a doctor who received her as a gift from one of his patients and found it difficult to devote time to her. I was the first caller to answer the ad. She was MINE!!
That's how I got started breeding. We had one litter with Nellie and made many new friends. However, the timing was not right then for me to pursue breeding as a career. But now, years later, I am finally doing what my passion dictates -- breeding Labradors.
My dogs are very important to me. They live together in our house as part of our extended family. Along with making sure every puppy is genetically sound, it is of the foremost importance that each one of them are hand-raised in a caring home environment to prepare them for their new forever homes.
To see the joy and happiness my puppies bring to families is very rewarding.
Our dogs are AKC registered but most importantly extremely healthy. We carefully select our breeding stocks in order to produce the most healthy, beautiful puppies with good temperament. We will help you chose the best puppy for you, your family, and lifestyle. At the same time, we want all our dogs to be happy, well-treated and loved.
A Labrador Retriever is strongly built, medium-size, possessing an athletic and well-balanced conformation. The most distinguishing characteristics of the breed are its short, dense weather-resistant coat; an"otter" tail; web feet; and its "kind", friendly eyes expressing character and intelligence. We raise our Labrador Retrievers to produce great, healthy and beautiful puppies: All our puppies come with a Limited Registration ( meaning that offspring of the dog cannot be registered). We want to ensure that only the very best representatives of the breed are bred. Our goal is always to perfect the breed not over-breed it.
All of our dogs are OFA certified in their hips and elbows and their eyes are CERF cleared. They carry written Health Warranties including hips, are dewormed, have all necessary vaccinations, checked by a vet and are raised in our home with tender love. They will make perfect companions for a lifetime! Read more
